We get asked all the time about meter quality and accuracy. Here’s the real story. The latest FDA standard says that 99% of the time a meter’s results have to be within 20% of the laboratory results and 95% of the time a meter’s results have to be within 15% of the laboratory result.
Let’s think about that for a moment. That means that if your lab result is 100 your meter might read anywhere from 85 to 115. That’s a much bigger range than most people expect. It doesn’t mean that the meters aren’t correct, it’s just that the technology for home blood sugar testing isn’t as precise as what laboratories use.
Diathrive’s meter is one of the latest and greatest and adheres to that 15% accuracy standard.
